The Texans (6-3) are 3 games over .500 for the first time in franchise history as they return to the road to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-4). The Texans will look for their third road win of the season and go into their bye week with a big lead in the AFC South. Andre Johnson will likely miss this game again and the Texans will lean on the two headed rushing attack of Arian Foster and Ben Tate. To preview this week's game I talked to Nick Houllis of Bucstop.com.

The Texans are off to a great start in the division having beaten every team going 3-0 thus far.  Almost half way through the season it seems as if the Colts are already eliminated from division contention, but the Titans and Jaguars still remain within striking distance.  Let’s take a look at how the competition is fairing in this week’s edition of Around the AFC South.

Our Texans are now 5-3. In what was a defensive dominated game, some Texans got theirs, and some didn’t. The biggest stat of the game, as usual, was the score. The Texans came out 24-14 winners and just like that, they are 3-0 in the division. Other than the first drive of each half, the offense was relatively quiet. They totaled 358 yards on 71 plays for an average of 5 yards per play while holding the ball for 35:19. They totaled 20 first downs while going 10 for 17 on third downs. Let’s jump into the position breakdown:

After a big road win in Tennessee to take over first place in the AFC South, the Texans (4-3) return home to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) on Battle Red Day. The Jaguars are coming off a shocking win on Monday Night Football against the Ravens. The Texans are 4-2 on Battle Red Day games against the Jaguars and they will try and strengthen their hold on first place in the division. To help preview this week's game we spoke to Blythe of GuysGirl.

How great did that Texans win feel on Sunday? After briefly slipping under Tennessee in the AFC South standings, the Texans took back 1st place in a dominating fashion. The Titans look to bounce back, the Jaguars are still hanging around, and the Colts are still terrible in this week’s edition of Around the AFC South.

Not much can really be said about this game other than “HELL YEAH!!!!” On a day where the Texans came 1 point shy of their franchise record, the game was played to near perfection, from top to bottom.  After the first two drives, which both ended in a punt, the Texans were not forced to punt one more time for the rest of the game. When you hold the ball for 37:58, it more than likely means good things for your offensive production. With 518 total yards, on 70 offensive plays, the Texans averaged 7.4 yards per play. That was good for 29 first downs and 7/13 on third down.

The Texans (3-3) will play their second straight road game Sunday as they take on the Tennessee Titans (3-2). The Titans are coming off their bye and are currently a half game ahead of the Texans for first place in the AFC South. It looks like these two teams will battle for the division title this year so this game is big. To help preview the game we spoke to Tom Gower of Total Titans.
